We design and manufacture medical skin patches for monitoring and stimulation applications, including ECG, EEG, EMG, GSR, TENS and EMS.
Our skin patches integrate printed electrodes, medical adhesives and reliable interconnects into a single, thin construction. Each design is co-developed with your device team, validated in our skin lab for comfort and signal quality, and prepared for predictable scale-up under ISO 13485 and FDA registration.
Why wearable patches
Traditional medical systems still rely on wired systems, separate gel electrodes and stationary equipment. While clinically established, these setups limit mobility, comfort and extended use ā both for monitoring and for therapy
Wearable sensor patches integrate electrodes, conductors, interconnects and medical adhesives into a single, thin construction that conforms to the body. By moving naturally with the skin, patches enable reliable bio-signal sensing and controlled electrical stimulation without restricting daily activity.
By combining biocompatible materials with conformable printed electronics, Quad designs skin interfaces that deliver stable signal quality and predictable stimulation performance, while remaining comfortable over the intended wear or session duration. This enables medical-grade monitoring and therapy beyond the hospital, into daily life and home use.
Electrode Technologies: hydrogel vs hydrogel-free
Hydrogel electrodesĀ are widely used in clinical monitoring applications due to their low and stable skināelectrode impedance. They are well aligned with existing clinical workflows and typically deliver excellent initial signal quality.
Hydrogel-free conductive adhesive electrodes offer an alternative approach, simplifying handling and packaging while enabling dry application. Depending on the use case, they can support extended shelf life and reduced sensitivity to dehydration.
Quad supports both electrode technologies. Selection is driven by wear time, body zone, signal requirements and packaging constraints. Each configuration is validated in our skin lab for comfort, electrical performance and reliability.
What we build
Quad develops complete wearable patch architectures, combining skin-contact materials, printed electronics and reliable interconnects into production-ready medical components.
Solutions
Prototype to volume
Bringing a wearable patch from prototype to volume production requires more than functional validation. Material behaviour, process stability and packaging performance must remain consistent as volumes increase.
Quad connects early development directly to industrial manufacturing. Prototype designs are assessed not only for signal quality and comfort, but also for process repeatability, yield and automation readiness. This prevents late-stage redesign when volumes scale.
Pilot builds are produced on production-representative equipment, allowing early verification of materials, tooling and process parameters. As volumes increase, the same validated architecture is transferred to automated lines with in-line inspection and full traceability.
This approach enables predictable scale-up ā from initial prototypes to pilot series and multi-million unit production ā without changes in patch architecture or performance.
Standards & Quality
Quality and regulatory compliance are embedded at every stage of Quadās operations ā from early material validation to automated high-volume production.
Quad operates under a certified ISO 13485 quality management system, ensuring full alignment with medical device regulatory requirements throughout development and manufacturing.
Our manufacturing facilities are FDA registered for medical device production. Processes, documentation and traceability are structured to support OEM partners supplying regulated markets in the US and globally.
Process control, validation & traceability
Each manufacturing step is governed by defined process controls and supported by customer-specific inspections and test protocols.
- full batch and lot traceability
- material, process and test data linked per production lot
- in-process controls and final inspections aligned with product risk
In our skin lab, electrode systems are electrically characterised following ANSI/AAMI EC12 guidelines, allowing performance benchmarking against medical-grade electrode standards. This ensures predictable impedance behaviour and signal stability across designs, materials and production lots.
Data from validation, in-process control and customer feedback are systematically reviewed to drive continuous improvement in both technology and manufacturing performance.
Strategic value for OEMs
For OEMs, the wearable patch is more than a consumable component ā it directly defines patient comfort, data quality and the reliability of the entire medical device.
Quad supports OEM and medtech partners with a unique combination of product development, material science, process engineering and scalable manufacturing, enabling predictable development and long-term production stability.
