Industrial membrane switches & touch solutions

Robust control solutions for demanding environments

Industrial locations can be challenging surroundings, with high demands on efficiency and productivity and high risks of damage. At Quad Industries, we design and produce versatile membrane switches and capacitive touch sensors specifically for industrial equipment and its challenging environments. Our tailor-made solutions ensure reliable performance in machines such as industrial washing machines, ovens, scales, forklifts, and factory automation systems.

Empowering industrial performance with robust, intuitive, and cost-effective interface solutions that boost efficiency and reliability across demanding environments.

Membrane switches for industrial equipment

Every industrial application comes with unique requirements. That’s why we start each project with a thorough analysis of the functional and technical needs. Our membrane switches combine durability, usability, and custom design to deliver long-term performance.

Built for robustness

Industrial environments are tough. Our membrane panels and switches are engineered to guarantee reliable operation throughout the entire machine lifecycle, even under harsh conditions.

(Back)lighting options

Integrated LED indicator lighting and backlighting enhance usability. Clear visibility in dark environments and visual button feedback improve both safety and workflow.

Easy cleanability

Dirty and dusty surroundings demand equipment that can be cleaned quickly. The fully sealed front foil provides a smooth, water-resistant surface suitable for various industrial cleaning agents.

Button feedback

Tactile membrane switches with metal domes or plastic polydomes deliver immediate physical feedback. This snap action is essential in noisy environments, giving operators confidence that inputs have been registered.c

Dust- and water resistance

Our solutions withstand extreme temperatures, moisture, dust, grease, and contaminants. With water resistance up to IP67, they are designed for environments where reliability is non-negotiable.

Front foil characteristics

Choose from a range of front foil options to match your specific requirements:

  • UV-resistant, anti-glare, glossy, or brushed steel look
  • Tailored color, design, thickness, and texture

Integrated technologies

We can seamlessly integrate advanced features into membrane panels, including:

  • Wireless connectivity (NFC, BLE, Wi-Fi antennas)
  • Capacitive touch sensing

Capacitive touch sensors for industrial equipment

Capacitive technology introduces a new range of control solutions for industrial applications. Our sensors translate finger touches or swipes into accurate actions, combining intuitive user experience with a wide range of design and branding possibilities.

Glass or plastic cover lenses

We offer capacitive touch sensors with chemically or thermally tempered glass, as well as surface-treated PMMA or PC. For environments with high risk of breakage, acrylic glass is recommended. For added protection in dusty or sandy environments, scratch-resistant coatings are available.

Anti-glare / anti-reflection

Reflections can obstruct visibility. Our coatings ensure clear readability in all surroundings and from multiple viewing angles, improving usability for operators.

Backlighting

We use translucent conductive inks combined with LED integration to provide uniform backlighting. This offers clear visual feedback and customizable design elements for intuitive operation in low-light conditions.

Water resistance

Traditional touch panels can malfunction in humid or wet environments due to water droplets on the surface. Our advanced sensor technology ensures uninterrupted operation, even in the most challenging conditions.

Case Study

MOOS is a pioneering Dutch start-up that specializes in offering digital inventory solutions. Their aim is to streamline stock management and ordering processes, while also optimizing inventory efficiency by not relying on manual labor.

At the heart of this effortless inventory management system
lies an innovative cloud connected pressure sensor, which can be easily installed on shelves, racks, drawers, and other flat storage surfaces in shops. This technology enables automatic and accurate monitoring of product stock levels in real-time, ensuring up-to-date inventory data is always readily available. MOOS initiated the development journey for this novel pressure sensor by partnering up with one of our competitors. The collaboration encountered difficulties due
to the other party’s requirement for a substantial purchase commitments, which was impractical for their start-up’s size. As a result, MOOS approached us to get the project back on track. With our expertise and experience, we were able to
enhance the sensor design and optimize it for cost-effective
production. Unfortunately, in this case the client had to invest twice in product development before reaching an efficient and scalable solution.
Satisfied with how we rectified the situation, MOOS already embarked on another development project with us.

Co-creation & advice

Co-creation is how we work. We challenge assumptions, ask the right questions and share insights gained from previous projects to help customers avoid pitfalls.

R&D

R&D at Quad is about exploring what’s possible before committing to what’s buildable. Through applied research, material testing and participation in innovation programs, we deepen our understanding of new technologies and emerging applications.

This knowledge feeds future projects and helps customers make informed choices early on.

Engineering

Engineering is where ideas are translated into concrete designs. Our engineers define architectures, layouts and technical details that balance functionality, performance and feasibility.

Every decision is made with downstream production and real-world use in mind.

Prototyping

Prototyping is about learning fast. We create functional samples and proof-of-concepts to test assumptions, compare options and validate critical parameters.

This hands-on phase reduces uncertainty before committing to final designs or production.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing is where reliability is proven. In our European production facilities, we produce both low-volume and series runs with full control over critical processes such as printing, assembly and precision cutting.

This allows us to deliver consistent quality while managing cost, yield and lead times.
